MIU MIU Leather Loafers

Miu Miu Leather Loafers: mytheresa.com

Oh my I can barely believe that I am actually writing this blog post, someone pinch me! I have been dreaming of these shoes for literally months and I have never been this obsessed with a pair of shoes. Now, being a fellow Sex and the City fan I always knew that one day I would have that Carrie Bradshaw moment and save my pennies and buy my self a pair of fabulous designer shoes, but I always thought it would be when I was 'all grown up' with a 'proper' job - you know what I mean. However, I found that perfect pair of shoes a whole lot sooner than I expected, it was literally that moment when you know you have to have something because your life will significantly improve as a result (some may say materialistic, I say fashion enthusiast...). So I decided that as I was working a lot over the summer holidays and the Christmas period that I would save my pennies and have a rather lavish splurge. The Miu's arrived a couple of weeks ago, and as I was going away for the week literally the day after they came I didn't get a chance to take these photos and write this until now, hence the suede heel inserts and the obvious appearance of them being worn, but holiday or not I was way too excited to wear them so I think this post was always going to come after I gave them a full test run.
So, far they have lived up to all my expectations. They are simple and classic, but still have an edge to them with the super pointy toe and the slight difference in the texture of the leather on the tip compared to the rest of the shoe. I also really love how versatile they are, they transition from jeans and a t-shirt to a dress and leather jacket effortlessly and add that little bit of edge and pop of 'chic' because of their sleek design.
The sizing was my biggest fear when it came to making the long awaited purchase, as I have rather small, narrow and skinny feet, and in the past I have always found that most flats tend to slip off my feet. I ordered a 36.5EUR, as in sneakers and such shoes I tend to wear a 37EUR, but heels and more 'flat style' shoes a 36-36.5EUR fits better as they sit nice and snug on my midget feet. I did end up having to put in the suede heel inserts (not the most attractive but necessary...) just for that extra bit of grip on the heel so that my foot is really secure in them.
These really did live upto all my expectations and more, as they are even more gorgeous in real life than I had expected (which I'm surprised is even possible), and I even think they look a little sexy (naughty...) being so sleek and beautifully shaped. I don't at all regret saving the money I worked hard for in the last few months and splurging it on them, because I really can see the difference between the Miu's and the other shoes I have looked at in stores, they have that little bit more extravagance and attention to detail, even though they are one of the most simple pair of shoes I own. I think that is what makes them, and some other designer shoes, so special, they are not over designed or pretentious, they are just a really lovely simple pair of shoes made with great care and attention, that look freaking beautiful!
All I can say is they make me want to die...

Let's Take A Moment... and Appreciate.

Whoa it's AMAZING! I don't even have words... I just can't. It HAS/NEEDS to be mine.
That is all I have to say, just look at it and it's total cuteness and greatness - appreciate the beauty!

Wishlist // Sephora

Urban Decay Naked 3: Oh, hello there, look how beauuutiful! Yes, it's another girl drooling over the Naked 3 palette... I don't have any of the Naked palettes (almost feel a little embarrassed to say that), so naturally when this pink-toned version was released I was all over it, and have been waiting for it to come back into stock online.

Dior Creme de Rose: I have been hearing and reading a lot about this fancy wee pot recently and everyone seems to be loving it. Now, I am a firm believer in treating yourself to a little fancy something every now and again, and a Dior lipbalm in a sweet little white pot is right up my alley... even thought it does hold a rather steep price tag.

Benefit Blush in 'Rockateur': This really is the wishlist of cult products, I recently went on a little holiday and went to a Benefit counter and swatched this blush, at first I was kinda disappointed but when I got out into the natural light and the sheen really stood out I was sold, and here we are with this wishlist and me having a ramble about a blush I should have bought when I had the chance - first world problems.

L'Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer: This is a product I initially didn't really pay any attention to, however I watched one of Essie Buttons YouTube videos a few days back and she used this and raved about how great it was for highlighting and under the eyes. I can't say I have a major problem with dark under eye circles, all I really look for is something to highlight and bring extra brightness to that area of my face. Apparently this is a really light formula and looks FAB so I'm down to try it!

NARS Creamy Concealer: I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about this concealer that seems to have taken over, hence why I need it in my life! I have some scarring and darker sports from past blemishes and the odd one (thank god!) that I get now, and some redness around my nose, which I am always looking to somewhat hide and judging from what I have heard this seems to be the 'it' product for just that. I say yes please to this wee thing!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in 'Adore': This is one of those things I have always wanted, but never really gotten around to actually getting. I'm not gonna lie, I think one of the main reasons is because the colour options have always overwhelmed me and I didn't know which one I wanted. Now, after over a year of deliberation (serious, serious stuff...) I have decided I want what Sephora describes as 'shimmering pink', well I think this marks quite a moment in my life - I have finally chosen a Tarte blush colour GO ME!

Anyone have any of these and love/hate them?

Today I Fell In Love With // The 'Weston' by Michael Kors

Today I Fell In Love With // MK

Michael Kors Medium Weston Convertible Shoulder Bag

Let's all just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this bag... oh yes, she's a beaut! I have been hunting for a nice bag every since I began obsessing over the Mulberry 'Effie', and I think all us average, designer coveting ladies know that the obsession will never become anything more, nor will it progress to ownership... it's all VERY sad. BUT, the world has been somewhat set right by dear Michael Kors and his 'Weston' bag - I say, amen! The design is very similar to the 'Effie', but with a few more signature Kors details, such as the gold chain detailing. I love that this bag is very casual, and will go with all outfits whether they are day of night, winter of summer - a real wardrobe staple. I'm not going to lie price wise it is still not the cheapest, however it is a fraction of the Mulb's and freaking beautiful, so I say TREAT YOURSELF, something I like to do far too often, but this treat will be a very good friend for years to come, a little MK companion. I say YES!!!

I hope others 'treat' themselves as much as I do... with justification of course... ;)

Kate and Some Pointy Toes

Sweatshirt: DIY'ed my self // Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch // Singlet: F21 // Shoes: ASOS // Bag: eBay // Watch: Michael Kors // Bracelet: Monica Vinader 'Fiji' // Ring: Karen Walker

So much for being more consistent with my blogging eh?.... I AM REALLY GOING TO TRY!
I am such a comfort dresser on a day-to-day basis, even when I try to step away from it for the sake of variety I tend to always come back to it. After being miserably late in snapping up one of the Reformation 'Kate Moss' jumpers, I decided to embark on the journey of making myself one, and voila! Not quite as good, but for a quarter of the price, NOT BAD! haha I paired it with my Abercrombie & Fitch distressed boyfriend jeans (I can't stress enough how amazing their jeans are), a plain white cami and my 'go to' black spike bottom bag. I decided to pull my pointy-toe heels out to bring a lil' something different to the look, a little bit of class to an otherwise tomboy-ish outfit, if you will. I've really gotten into the whole shoe thing recently and have started experimenting more with different styles, not just the good old sneakers and converse, things are happening! :D

Dungarees 90210

Dungarees: Forever 21 // Crop Top: ASOS (Brand: Warehouse) // Converse PLAY Comme Des Garcons: Forward by Elyse Walker // Sunglasses: Wild Pair // Watch: Michael Kors 'Chronograph' // Bracelet: Monica Vinader 'Fiji' // Ring: Karen Walker

It is summer holidays for me so I have a fair bit of spare time on my hands inbetween work, and I have been spending A LOT of it watching Beverly Hills 90210 from the 90's, partly just for the fashion (but also for Brandon Walsh...naughty) and it's making me wish I was an 80's kid - hence the dungarees and striped crop.
I am obsessed with dungarees and playsuits at the moment and this is my newest little pal. I think they look so cool and trendy, but also super effortless and easy to style.
My converse are also another new staple in my summer wardrobe for pretty much the same reasons as the dungarees - effortless and cool, not to mention they go with EVERYTHING. And with all that said I'm off to get my daily fix of 90210.... ;)

How do you get your fashion inspiration? :)

Rebecca Minkoff vs. Miu Miu

Rebecca Minkoff vs. Miu Miu

There comes a time in every girls life when she starts dreaming of designer duds because she knows that they will make her life that little bit more special and FAB. I have found myself at this stage of my life, and my designer wishlist is slowly growing. At the top of my list are these totally to-die Miu Miu flats. The obsession started after I discovered the fashion blog WeWoreWhat and saw Danielle Bernstein pair them with absolutely everything - from casual to more formal looks. The Miu Miu's stood out and brought a little edge to all the looks, and really pulled them together. I have been drooling over them ever since. Now, Miu Miu's do not come cheap... and me being a student with only a part-time job does not lend itself very well to this situation. So, I have been searching for a cheaper alternative for weeks....and weeks, and finally I found the closest thing in the form of these Rebecca Minkoff studded flats. They are not a perfect match, but then again nothing will quite live up to the Miu Miu's. They are very similar in shape, although not quite as pointy in the toe and have a few added details in the form of stitching and studds, AND of course they are less than half the price. I will say though that even the Rebecca Minkoff pair is not exactly 'cheap', but just like the Miu Miu's they are genuine leather from the inside out which means they would be in my life for years rather than months. Now, I am faced with some tough decisions that only a fellow fashion lover would understand - do I go with the cheaper alternative and not put as much of a strain on my purse, OR do I save the pennies and make my first Miu Miu investment, as Carrie Bradshaw would do? Decisions, decisions.....

Do I take the designer plunge?
